Naturally Entertaining

The client's main objective for this transformation was to open up the home for connected family living and entertaining. The dated kitchen and dining rooms in the original portion of the structure were completely compartmentalized, which posed both functional and aesthetic problems. By creating an open concept kitchen and removing the once-exterior rear wall between the kitchen and new living room addition, instant physical and visual connection was achieved. Natural daylight pours in throughout and highlights slate flooring, walnut cabinetry, green accents, glazed terra-cotta, and grasscloth—all channeling the client's love of nature. The end result is a home where this family of musicians can create music, spend time together and host effortlessly.
