Jewel Box Cottage

This Cape Cod Cottage project was all about context and character. A 'jewelry box' was used as a metaphor to describe how a structure that was seemingly small from the outside could unfold into a varied array of spaces when one progresses through the building; an apparently simple exterior form with an unexpectedly warm and eclectic interior. The home addition carries the essence of the original structure and very much contextually belongs in the neighborhood. To honor the historic structure, we chose high quality, timeless materials and finishes and created a web of sight lines connecting the spaces. Complementing the stunning architectural bones, we went with furnishings and design elements that felt clean, natural, and transitional.
